For anyone who may have followed me (or stumbled over me) in this blog; you may remember my original purpose was to pursue, test, and try to explain the ideas behind what is commonly called positive thinking or using visualization techniques.
One principle is to spend time daily: 7 - 15 or more minutes, 1-3 times per day clearing the mind and getting in 'tune' with the 'universe' to receive ideas or concepts that lead to success in achieving one's goals. To be honest, I haven't done well in setting aside the time to visualize, BUT, I have been thinking along the lines that I WILL be successful in certain endeavors, rather than that I'd like to be successful or that I might be successful.
1.) In my business, this seems to be working: new accounts are being acquired - income will go up!
2.) In my real estate, I have sold one property and am working on a plan to sell the rest - no longer 'overwhelmed' by all that needs to be done.
3.) In my life plans, confusion reigns...but that's okay for now. I've set a time frame of a little under three years to reach a certain point, a 'fork in the road' so to speak. If I try to force the decision making process, to rush it, maybe I'm not waiting for the 'universe' to sort it out, to 'mark the path'.
Score? 1 and 2 are looking better. 3 is on hold.
Let's see: Close the door to my office, put my feet up, close my eyes, breathe deeply, clear the mind.......

Time 'bandits' are stealing my life!
There was a movie called Time Bandits. Think I saw it - don't have a clue as to what it was about, BUT, I know a Time Bandit when I see one! It is all the things that add up, mount up, gang up to keep you from getting done what you want to do.
My screen saver is a sentence of three words: "Not Another Thing!" that I use to remind me to avoid adding additional responsibilities to my life. And yet they come: the heavy-duty, cast iron front axle on my lawn tractor breaks (6 hours to remove and replace), the air conditioner on my Suburban needs to be replaced and there is a persistant leak (4 trips to and from the shop), hours of paperwork fighting with my workman's compensation insurer about the premium, and a TO-DO list of at least 100 items covering my home, business, and rental properties.
Is there a solution? I think so: work on selling the rentals, build up the business so I have more income to hire out some of the things I am forced to do now, etc.
Change, the kind of change I dream of, is a process: remove those things that drag me down emotionally and financially (the rental properties), reinforce those things that build me up (adding to my business income).
Slow and steady wins the race. Right?

Money can be made. Time however, once you’ve spent it, it’s gone forever.”
I stole the above and reworded it slightly. It's from an interview on a podcast I listened to. It really refers to life and how we approach it. Do you use up your day casually (the average American watches 4-6 hours of TV per day!), or do you invest your time in activities that will enrich your life? It could be spending time with family, or pursuing 'learning' that will expand your financial opportunities.
I've set a time limit of three years. Actually 35 and 1/2 months until my son is 18 and graduated from high school. My daughter will be 22 and.....who knows, long gone from college and living life. My 'obligation' to
provide for them will be somewhat complete. I will have 'spent' 22 years...time well spent, I'd die for them if necessary, BUT I'll need to have a change in my life.
